Supporters of President Donald Trump dissed cable news network CNN at the U.S. Women's Open as a reporter was questioning four protesters at the event, with one supporter asking, "Is Clinton News Network Here," the Washington Examiner reported.

Trump was in attendance at the event that took place Sunday at his golf course in Bedminster, N.J. The president wore a red "Make America Great Again" hat and waved at the crowd. It didn't appear he saw the protesters.

The protesters, three women and one man, were wearing purple T-shirts that said "USGA Dump Sexist Trump." They simply stared at the president, and one protester, Melissa Byrne, said they were there because they wanted to "look him in the eye," according to a White House press pool report.

After about an hour, the protesters then gave up and went to a concession stand for ice cream, a press pool report said.
