Palin: Question on Which Papers She Read Was 'Fair'

Sarah Palin now admits the 2008 question that got her branded as unintelligent by many was a fair one to which she gave a "crappy answer."

In an interview aired on CBS' "Sunday Morning," the former Alaska governor also took part of the blame for Sen. John McCain's loss to Barack Obama in the 2008 presidential contest.

She was part of the team, she said, and that team came in second in a contest of two.

Back in 2008, Palin, then McCain's vice presidential running mate was asked by reporter Katie Couric which newspapers she reads to stay informed.

"I've read most of them, again with a great appreciation for the press, for the media," she answered. "All of them. Any of them that have been in front of me over all these years."

"I had a crappy answer, but it was a fair question," Palin said in Sunday's interview.

"I didn’t like, though, the way that, forever then in these seven years, that interview has kind of been stamped on my forehead as, 'She’s an idiot,'" Palin added. "I just think, in the context of the whole ball of wax that day — or two days — of an interview and editing, it wasn’t real fun."
