President Barack Obama's farewell address Tuesday night was longer than the combined length of the three two-term presidents who preceded him — George W. Bush, Bill Clinton and Ronald Reagan, the Washington Examiner reported.

The lengths, according to the Examiner:

  • Obama: 51 minutes.
  • Reagan: 21 minutes.
  • Bush: 13 minutes.
  • Clinton: 7 minutes.

Obama also broke from tradition by holding his address outside of the White House, electing to return to Chicago to do it in front of 18,000 at the convention center.

Obama's address, held in primetime and carried by all four networks, drew nearly 24 million viewers, not including cable numbers.
