House Committee Wants Any Obama Emails on Solyndra

By    |   Friday, 07 Oct 2011 03:01 PM

The Solyndra loan scandal continues to percolate. The House Energy and Commerce Committee has sent a request to White House lawyers for all communications involving White House officials, including President Barack Obama himself, relating to the decision to provide a $535 million loan guarantee for now failed solar energy company Solyndra, USA Today reports. The communications include emails.

The request may cause a conflict with the White House if Obama wants to keep his emails private. Previous presidents and committees have differed over what information has to be released, but this would be the first time a disagreement would focus on the president’s email. It’s not known whether Obama even sent or received any emails related to Solyndra.
