Mark Zuckerberg is now the sixth-richest person in the world with a fortune of more than $50 billion.

The co-founder, chairman, and CEO of Facebook added an additional $4.2 billion in after-hours trading Wednesday after the company's earnings report was released. According to Forbes, Facebook's first quarter revenue was $5.38 billion — more than the projected number of $5.26 billion.

The company's stock price then went up by almost 10 percent and Zuckerberg made his money.

The 31-year-old is now worth an estimated $51.7 billion. As of Wednesday evening, that puts him $1.6 billion ahead of the seventh-richest person in the world, Oracle founder and CEO Larry Ellison.

Facebook's earnings report showed the company is continuing to grow, with an increase in active daily users of its mobile app and a nearly 300 percent jump in net income from the first quarter of last year.
