Jeb Bush took a swipe at Republicans — and President Donald Trump – for failing to pull together toward a common agenda despite their majority control in Washington.

In an interview to air Sunday with radio show host John Catsimatidis on "The Cats Roundtable," the former Florida governor and presidential primary candidate cited the failure of the GOP health care bill an example of the void.

"We haven't come up with a compelling, unifying agenda that can replace that," Bush said in remarks posted by The Hill ahead of the show's airing.

"And that's where you see the struggles in Washington right now. The healthcare debacle is a good example of that. Presidential leadership would be helpful here."

"There's a lot that could be done that I think has broad-based support," he said of Trump's agenda. "If he could focus on these positive things, our brand then could be solidified, I think."

He said the GOP has got to move from being the opposition party – or face the voters' wrath.

"Being against what the other guys are for is not a sustainable political position," he said. "It can work in the short term as we've seen, but in the longterm, people want to see results."
