The one documented medical condition Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton has is hypothyroidism, a condition affecting about 10 million other Americans, the Washington Examiner reports.

The problem results in symptoms that can include fatigue, weakness and weight gain, and most are reduced or eliminated by hormone therapy.

Clinton takes "Armour Thyroid," according to her doctor, who has declared her in "excellent" physical condition and is fit to serve as president.

But the medication is not a common treatment anymore, according to celebrity doctor Drew Pinsky.

"It's something we used to use back in the '60s," Pinsky said on KABC's "McIntyre in the Morning" show last week in Los Angeles.

"What is going on with her healthcare? It's bizarre."

Hossein Gharib, a Mayo Clinic doctor and former president of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, counters that there's no cause for concern.

"She is perfectly capable and in good health, taking her medication," he said. "This is in no way an impediment or deterrent. She is a normal human being at this point."
