Hillary Clinton — on the hot seat for using a private email system to conduct official business while serving as Secretary of State — turned to Twitter Monday to fire off a flurry of blasts at Republicans working "against women."

 Clinton’s first tweet read:

  The Twitter tirade continued:
The attack from Clinton — who has championed the economic advancement of women  —follows news Sunday the Senate confirmation of Loretta Lynch as attorney general will be dragged out while the Senate debates a standoff regarding a human trafficking bill being held up over a provision dealing with abortion.

Clinton's presumed presidential bid has taken a hit in the wake of her admission she used her personal email address and server to conduct State Department business, and a new poll finds Americans are divided on what the controversy means for her White House aspirations.

According to a CNN/ORC survey released Monday, 52 percent of Americans said the controversy is "not relevant to her character or her ability to serve as president."

But 46 percent said the controversy indicates Clinton may not be ready to handle the job of president.

The poll also found the former secretary of state is viewed as less "honest and trustworthy" than she was last year. In 2014, 56 percent of Americans trusted Clinton and saw her as honest, now about 50 percent feel the same way, the survey finds.

Nevertheless, 57 percent said Clinton is someone "they’d be proud to have as their president."

The poll has a margin of error of 3 percentage points.
