Hillary Clinton Lied About Benghazi, PAC Ad Campaign Charges

An Illinois-based political action committee has launched one of the year's hardest-hitting ad campaigns targeting Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton.

The campaign created by the non-partisan Restoration PAC focuses on the former secretary of state's role following the embassy attack in Benghazi. A PAC commercial charges Clinton covered up the real reasons for the attack for political reasons.

"She lied and the emails prove it," the ad asserts.

The ad offers a detailed timeline that shows Clinton sent an email to her daughter an hour after she learned of the attacks, stating that an "al-Qaida-like group" had conducted the assault.

Later, the ad states, Clinton told the Egyptian prime minister the incursion that left four Americans dead was "a terrorist attack not related to any YouTube video."

Subsequent statements by Clinton appeared to blame a controversial, anti-Muslim video for causing a spontaneous demonstration. According to surviving family members, she promised the filmmaker would be arrested.

"In the heat of a political campaign," the ad charges, "Clinton lied to protect her job. She even lied to families of our heroes. And she wants to lead our country?"

The ad will be running in the early primary states of New Hampshire and South Carolina, as well as in Washington, D.C.

Doug Truax, a former GOP U.S. Senate candidate from Illinois, said the initial ad buy will approach $400,000.

"America deserves leaders who tell them the truth and put our nation's security ahead of politics," said Truax, a West Point grad and U.S. Army veteran.

Truax also announced that former Mitt Romney National Security spokesman Richard Grenell has joined Restoration PAC. Grenell is the longest serving U.S. spokesman at the United Nations ever, having served from 2001 to 2008.

A Newsmax magazine contributor and founding partner of Capitol Media Partners, Grenell is expected to play a strategic role in formulating the PAC's media content.
