The face of Alexander Hamilton will reportedly remain front and center on the $10 bill — and former president Andrew Jackson will be relegated to the flip side of the $20, replaced on the front by the image of Harriet Tubman.

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew is expected to make the surprising announcement Wednesday afternoon. Politico reports that along with plans to put the pictures of suffrage movement leaders on the back of the sawbuck, Lew will call for changes to the $5 bill that will depict civil rights era leaders.

The move to replace Hamilton on the $10 bill was first announced 10 months ago, but fans of the mega-hit rap musical "Hamilton" pushed back — including "Hamilton" creator Lin-Manuel Miranda who pressed Lew personally to keep Hamilton front and center.

"It's yet another 'wait your turn' moment for American women," political commentator Cokie Roberts writes in The New York Times.

But Missouri Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill was more forgiving.

"It may seem like we have more important things to worry about, but all of us will be watching to see if they find other opportunities," she tells The Times.
