The comedy website Funny or Die has released a 50-minute spoof on Donald Trump's 1980s bestselling book "The Art of the Deal," saying it is a TV movie that never aired.

Director Ron Howard introduces the movie, claiming it was written by, directed by and starred Trump in 1988. It supposedly was pre-empted by a "Monday Night Football" game, angering Trump so much he refused to let it ever air.

Howard holds up a VHS videotape he says he got at a garage sale in Arizona, the pops it into a TV/VCR combo and the movie begins.

Trump teaches his business negotiating skills to a young boy as he attempts to buy the Taj Mahal casino from Merv Griffin (played by Patton Oswalt.)

The spoof also stars Alfred Molina, Robert Morse, Jack McBrayer, Michaela Watkins, Henry Winkler, Stephen Merchant, Christopher Lloyd, Kristen Schaal, Andy Richter, Alf (the alien puppet) and more.

The theme is written by Kenny Loggins and the script was penned by Joe Randazzo, a former editor of The Onion and a writer for the Comedy Central series “@midnight.” It was directed by "Drunk History" creator Jeremy Konner.

Depp is unrecognizable in full Trump makeup, and inhabits the role of the business mogul.

"With Donald Trump somehow still in prime-position to become the next President of the United States, Funny Or Die has released what might end up being the most politically important film in American history. Well, certainly since Dave," Funny or Die said in a statement.

"It was a crazy, completely nuts idea that somehow we pulled off," Funny or Die co-founder Adam McKay told The New York Times.

"The plan was to move really fast because we thought Trump would go away, as least as a presidential candidate," said Funny or Die editor in chief Owen Burke. "When he bizarrely didn't go away, we had a little more time. But that meant keeping the secret for longer."
