Rebellious western rancher Cliven Bundy is reportedly filing a lawsuit against President Barack Obama and Nevada officials in an effort to get charges dismissed in his armed standoff over grazing fees on federal lands.

The Hill reports the lawsuit is expected to be filed Tuesday against the president, Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, the Nevada Democrat's son, former Clark County Commission's head Rory Reid and U.S. District Court Judge Gloria Navarro.

According to The Hill, Bundy alleges the officials violated his constitutional rights, and asks the court to dismiss his indictment and release him from solitary confinement. A detention hearing was set for Bundy in Las Vegas.

Bundy was indicted for inciting the 2014 standoff over the federal government's move to round up the rancher's cattle after he refused to pay grazing fees. The Nevada rancher was arrested in February following the occupation of an Oregon wildlife refuge led by his sons.

The rancher's fight with the feds drew scores of armed militiamen to his Nevada ranch in 2014; he's racked up more than $1 million in unpaid grazing fees, fines and related costs over the years, refusing to recognize federal authorities over the land.
