President Donald Trump's fallout with Gov. Chris Christie, R-N.J., stems back to election night when Trump told Christie he did not want to use his "f—ing phone" to talk with then-President Barack Obama, the Daily Mail reported Monday.

Christie had set up a call with Obama on his cell phone in case Trump won but Trump, described as a germophobe in a new book by Bloomberg Businessweek's Joshua Green, did not want Christie's cell phone next to his face.

"You know my number, just give it to the president, I don't want your f—ing phone," Trump reportedly told Christie.

The book, "Devil's Bargain: Steve Bannon, Donald Trump and the Storming of the Presidency," is due out Tuesday.

The incident took place after Trump and his team realized he was about to pull off the victory against Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. Christie came into Trump's War Room during that moment and said: "Hey Donald, the President talked to me earlier. . . . If you win he's going to call my phone, and I'll pass it over to you."

Trump, according to the book, "flashed a look of annoyance, clearly resenting the intrusion and was repulsed by the idea of having somebody else's phone next to his face."

Greene's book also reveals how Trump fell out with then-campaign chair Paul Manafort – he accused him of treating him like a baby when reports said campaign officials did TV interviews to get the president's attention. Also according to the book, Trump was indifferent to building a wall along the southern U.S. border until he suggested it during the Iowa Freedom Summit in January 2015 and "the place went nuts."
