House Cancels Meeting on Global Warming — Due to Blizzard

By    |   Wednesday, 06 Mar 2013 01:57 PM

In a move that some might call ironic, a House subcommittee has canceled a hearing on global warming — due to a snowstorm in Washington, D.C.

The Committee on Science, Space, and Technology’s Subcommittee on Environment had scheduled the hearing for 10 a.m. Wednesday morning. Among those to testify were Dr. Judith Curry, a professor in the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at Georgia Institute of Technology, and Dr. Bjorn Lomborg, president of the Copenhagen Consensus Center.

The subcommittee announced simply that the hearing on climate change was postponed “due to weather.”

The Washington area could see its biggest snowstorm in about two years, with up to 12 inches of snow expected.

The federal government ordered 375,000 workers in the area to stay home, according to Reuters, and closed all federal offices.
