O'Reilly: Kate Steinle 'Collateral Damage to Insane Far-Left Politics'

By    |   Tuesday, 07 Jul 2015 10:10 PM

Katherine Steinle, the 32-year-old woman shot to death in San Francisco allegedly by an illegal immigrant, was "collateral damage to the insane far-left politics that have long corrupted the City by the Bay," Fox News host Bill O'Reilly said Tuesday.

O'Reilly on Monday's "O'Reilly Factor" blasted the San Francisco city leadership for making it a "sanctuary city" in which illegal immigrants are not turned over to federal authorities after being released from jail.

Juan Francisco Lopez-Sanchez admitted to a TV reporter he shot Steinle, but said it was an accident. He had been deported five times and has seven felony convictions.

O'Reilly on Monday
called the mayor and city supervisors "directly responsible" for Steinle's death, and on Tuesday, he called for the San Francisco Sheriff Ross Mirkarimi to resign.

"What kind of law officer allow as known felon to walk free when the feds want him in custody?" O'Reilly asked. "The sheriff is incompetent, period. … And so are the the folks who run the city of San Francisco, most of whom are now hiding."

Steinle, O'Reilly said, is the victim of liberal policies to protect illegal immigrants.

"Dangerous people are walking around because of political correctness," he said.
