The White House believed the Congressional Budget Office analysis of the GOP's healthcare bill was going to show an additional two million more people losing their insurance, Politico reported.

The CBO said 24 million more Americans would be uninsured under the proposed American Health Care Act than under Obamacare by 2026. According, to Politico the Office of Management and Budget had forecasted 26 million would lose coverage over the next decade.

The White House insisted the higher estimate was an attempt by the OMB to predict what CBO would say in its report, according to the website.

"This is not an analysis of the bill in any way whatsoever," White House Communications Director Michael Dubke told Politico. "This is OMB trying to project what CBO's score will be using CBO's methodology."

And CNBC reported Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price agreed with his assessment.

Meanwhile, White House officials are strongly denying both numbers. And Price said he "disagreed strenuously" with most of the CBO's findings.

However, he did agree with one portion of the report, CNBC noted.

Price said he does accept that the plan would reduce the federal deficit by $337 billion over the next decade.
