I am steeling myself for another blistering Twump assault on Twitter. This time against arcane GOP vote suppression rules in New York.

In a “yuge” insult to his campaign, Snopes.com has verified that New York officials are using some obscure and arcane political insider rule called a “deadline” to prevent two of Donald Trump’s children from voting!

Two votes Trump was reasonably sure would have been for him.

You’ve probably seen them on TV. Donald Jr., Eric and Ivanka Trump have been campaign surrogates for their father across the country. While Sen. Ted Cruz’s children have been doing something called “growing up,” the Trump kids have been incredibly high-energy campaigners, going to places their father couldn’t be or places that wouldn’t accept his phone calls.

Anyone could see these kids were strong Trump supporters. Yet the New York GOP is preventing two of the three from voting for him.

Here’s how their insider scam works. In New York it’s not enough to register to vote. If you want to vote in a party primary, the state forces you to additionally register as a member of the party. I’ll bet Trump thinks this sounds like the communists in Russia, although I’m sure if this had taken place in the actual Russia, Trump’s good friend Vladimir Putin would make an exception for him.

What’s more, you are required to make your decision months before the primary. Eric and Ivanka had to officially register as Republicans by Oct. 9 of last year. This goes against everything Trump has written in "The Art of the Deal." You have to remain flexible to get the best terms; committing that early eliminates your leverage.

This sounds like another conspiracy similar to the one in Colorado. They changed their primary rules even earlier. That state doesn’t even hold a primary vote. Instead of letting candidates hold some really yuge rallies, dominate the news coverage and then have a victory celebration — at only the best ballroom — Republicans say you’ve got to attend something called a “caucus” and recruit delegates who will vote for you at the convention.

Who has time for that?

Besides that caucus stuff sounds like Iowa, where Trump didn’t win either, so no wonder he didn’t go all out in Colorado. I’ll bet Trump thinks if he looks hard enough Megyn Kelly will be in there somewhere working against him.

(For those of you who haven’t been following me lately, the above is satire. I will hold my nose and vote for Trump if he’s the nominee, but I won’t do anything to encourage him.)
