When leftist Democrats talk about getting big money out of politics they conveniently ignore an instance where they used the biggest piggy bank of all to try and influence the outcome of an election in one of our most important allies.

The Washington Times reports the Obama State Department gave “$350,000 of taxpayer money was given to OneVoice (an Israeli NGO). On the surface, that money was supposed to help the peace negotiations between Israel and Palestine. However, the cash was instead spent on stopping [Prime Minister] Netanyahu from winning [re–election].

Here at home Democrats claim it’s an outrage when the Koch brothers legally contribute their own money to political organizations for political purposes and then report their contributions as required by U.S. law.

But somehow in their twisted thinking it’s perfectly legal to take U.S. taxpayer dollars and use them to secretly undermine the re-election campaign of one of America’s strongest allies, Benjamin Netanyahu.

This misuse of your money took place in the usual wink and nod, dishonest fashion that has been a hallmark of Obama administration dealing with the public and the law.

Obama minions at the State Department conspired to give the $350,000 no strings attached grant to OneVoice even though the group had been a high profile participant in the parliamentary elections in Israel in 2013.

OneVoice sent a detailed proposal of how the money was to be used to “build a voter database, train activists and hire a political consulting firm with ties to President Obama’s campaign.”

When presented with this evidence the State Department’s Consul General in Jerusalem Michael Ratney claims he got an email, but he routinely deleted large attachments like the one that contained the detailed proposal.

Besides being as credible as Hillary, this explanation means he regularly broke the law since communication is supposed to be archived.

And while the clandestine campaign was in the planning stages, Democrat and former Cong. Mel Levine had the gall to announce, “[The] United States and Israel should refrain from interfering in the domestic politics of one another.”

Fortunately in spite of the Obama administration’s dishonest and underhanded meddling in Israel’s internal politics, Netanyahu won re–election.

That’s the good news.

The bad news is this latest example of the Obama administration’s lawless misuse of authority and tax dollars will go unpunished, as have all the other instances of executive overreach.
