In 1652 Jan Van Riebeeck established a refreshment station at the Cape of Good Hope, the most southwesterly point of South Africa. The station would service the Dutch East India trading ships on their voyage along the spice route to India and the Far East. This marked the beginning of a permanent European settlement in the region.

Centuries later foreign businessmen seek to once again use South Africa’s geographic strategic importance to aid their exploration. However this time, instead of a service station en route to the Far East, South Africa serves as a spring board for foreign business to access greater opportunities throughout Africa.

INDUTEC is the influential 10-events-in-one South African Industry and Technology Fair. The 10 events focus mainly on manufacturing, engineering, water, petrochemical, plastics, and energy sectors. INDUTEC has created an effective networking and showcase venue that allows industry leaders and players from all over the world to find their niche on the African continent.

John Thomson of Exhibition Management Services, organizers of the event, says that “Instead of making several trips to various countries in Africa to seek out business opportunities, one visit to the INDUTEC Fair provides a versatile showcasing, networking, and deal-making platform for companies from all over Africa.”

INDUTEC 2015 will take place in Johannesburg from May 20 to May 22.
