In immediate wake of the Dec. 2 attack by two ISIS-connected assailants at the San Bernardino, Calif., Inland Regional Center which left 14 people dead and 21 wounded, the White House once again deflected attention from evil-doers to guns as weapons of mass distraction.

Rather than addressing a growing radical Islamic threat, President Obama offered a different priority. He said: “And we’re going to have to, I think, search ourselves as a society to take measures that would make it harder — not impossible, but harder — for people to get access to weapons.”

Democratic presidential candidate frontrunner Hillary Clinton also downplayed terrorist plotting behind the San Bernardino shootings.

Turning her emphasis to a need for more stringent gun control, she told a New Hampshire campaign audience: “No matter what motivation these shooters had, we can say one thing for certain — they shouldn’t have been able to do this.”

Speaking at a December 1st Paris press conference just two days after a lone gunman killed three people at a Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood clinic, Mr. Obama implicitly blamed the tragedy on America’s unique Second Amendment rights.

In doing so he wrongly observed: “I mean, I say this every time we go to one of these mass shootings, this just doesn’t happen in other countries.”

He had previously voiced this same myth right after the October 1st shooting which left nine people dead and nine others wounded at the Umpqua Community College in Oregon.

Before any particulars were investigated he concluded: “We know that other countries in response to one mass shooting have been able to craft laws that almost eliminate mass shootings; friends of ours, allies of ours — Great Britain, Australia — countries like ours. So we know there are ways to prevent it.”

Hillary Clinton has agreed. When asked during an October New Hampshire town hall meeting why the American government couldn’t confiscate handguns just as Australia did, she replied: “I think it would be worth considering that at a national level, if it could be arranged.”

Candidate Clinton then erroneously asserted that the Australian program focused exclusively upon automatic weapons, and that the gun buy-back was voluntary just like the Obama administration’s “cash for clunkers” plan.

In reality, that compulsory 1996 citizen gun grab collected and destroyed more than 60,000 semiautomatic rifles and repeating shotguns.

Incidentally, researchers at the University of Melbourne concluded that there was little evidence by 2008 that those costly restrictions “had any significant effects on firearm homicides and suicides."

A 2009 Daily Mail article reported that the total number of British firearms offenses rose by 89 percent between 1998 and 2008 following a similar 1997 ban on virtually all handguns.

It also noted that Britain had become “the most violent country in Europe,” with a “worse rate for violence than the U.S. and even South Africa.”

Still, that could never really be expected to happen here, right?

After all, let’s remember what then-senator Obama promised at a September 2008 presidential campaign speech in Lebanon, Virginia. Asserting a belief in “people’s lawful right to bear arms,” he vowed, “I will not take your shotgun away. I will not take your rifle away. I won’t take your handgun away.”

Hillary claims to support our gun rights too, providing that the Supreme Court agrees with her interpretation.

As reported in a leaked audio tape obtained by the Washington Free Beacon, she said:“And here again, the Supreme Court is wrong on the Second Amendment . . . And I am going to make that case every chance I get.”

Following various Obama congressional and constitutional end-run strategies she makes no bones about her intent as future president to advance gun control through executive orders. The primary terrorist organization she apparently intends to target with those executive orders is the NRA.

During her recent New Hampshire town hall meeting candidate Clinton said: “[What] I would love to see is gun owners, responsible gun owners, hunters, form a different organization and take back the Second Amendment from these [NRA] extremists.”

At another town hall meeting following the Umpqua Community College shootings she observed:“You know, the NRA reminds me of negotiating with the Iranians or the communists.”

She went on to say: “The NRA tries to keep gun owners — the ones who are members —really upset all the time so that they can keep collecting their money, because they tell them they’re the only thing that’s going to stop the black helicopters from landing in the front yard and people’s guns being seized.”

But don’t worry about black helicopters landing in your front yard and messing up your lawn. Rather, expect ATF agents under federal orders driving directly up to our front doors with lights flashing to demand that we surrender our pistols, our rifles and shotguns, and our constitutional freedoms.
