President Donald Trump took to Twitter Saturday to praise the U.N. Security Council for slapping tough sanctions on North Korea, noting that "China and Russia voted with us."

Here are Trump's posts:

The Security Council voted to target North Korean exports that sought to deprive Pyongyang of $1 billion in annual revenue and other strong steps in response to its recent missile tests.

The resolution was drafted by the U.S. — and the 15-0 vote included support from China, Russia and Japan.

The measure bans all exports of coal, iron and iron ore, lead and lead ore, as well as fish and seafood by the cash-starved state — stripping North Korea of a third of its export earnings estimated at $3 billion a year.

"We should not fool ourselves into thinking we have solved the problem," U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, the former South Carolina Republican governor, told the council before the vote. "Not even close.

"The North Korean threat has not left us. It is rapidly growing more dangerous.

"Further action is required," she added. "The United States is taking and will continue to take prudent defensive measures to protect ourselves and our allies."

Haley noted that Washington would continue annual joint military exercises with South Korea.
