GUANTANAMO BAY NAVAL BASE, Cuba -- An Afghan detainee is in a war-crimes court in Guantanamo for a pretrial hearing after U.S. military guards dragged him from his cell.
Mohammed Kamin is refusing to take part in the proceedings, joining a growing detainee boycott of the war-crimes trials. The military judge, Air Force Col. W. Thomas Cumbie, said Kamin tried to bite and spit on a guard Wednesday on the way to the courtroom.
Kamin is accused of placing missiles near U.S.-occupied areas in Afghanistan and spying on American bases for al-Qaida.
