Sen. McConnell: GOP Wants Impartial Justice

The Senate's Republican leader says the GOP is looking for a Supreme Court nominee who will apply the law impartially.

Kentucky Sen. Mitch McConnell says Republicans know President Barack Obama will pick someone on "the political left" to fill the vacancy created by Justice David Souter's retirement.

But McConnell says there are liberal judges who have shown they can put aside their political views once they are on the bench.

McConnell won't rule out the idea of trying to filibuster Obama's nominee, but the senator says it's way too early to get into that discussion when the president hasn't even announced his choice.

McConnell spoke on "Fox News Sunday."
