Scott: A Vote for Sink Is a Vote for Obama

Monday, 01 Nov 2010 06:23 PM

Republican Florida gubernatorial candidate Rick Scott says the state will be in big trouble if Democrat Alex Sink is elected governor.

“This race is important, because my opponent is an Obama liberal,” he tells Newsmax.TV. “If she wins, all the problems we have in this country, whether it’s Obamacare, the stimulus, etc., bringing all his economic plans to the state are going to ruin it.”

On Monday, Scott was visiting West Palm Beach in a campaign stop on his whistle-blowing bus tour when he stopped for the Newsmax.TV interview.

Although Scott leads Sink in the latest Rasmussen poll by 48 percent to 45 percent, a large turnout is still important, he says. “I was with Senator John Thune the other day. He said he lost his first Senate race by 500 votes,” Scott says of the South Dakota Republican.

Scott urged Republicans to vote Tuesday.

“So you just never know. You work your tail off. You have to get everyone out to vote. We’re doing really well with early voting and absentee ballots, but get everybody out to vote.”

Florida is a key 2012 battleground state. If the Democrats capture the governorship it could help Obama win re-election.
