Voters are apparently taking Republicans’ side in the negotiations to come up with a budget for the rest of this fiscal year and beyond. A new poll conducted by The Hill
shows that 41 percent of voters believe the GOP has been “more reasonable” on budget issues, while 29 percent see Democrats as more reasonable.
Of the remainder, 22 percent believe neither party is more reasonable than the other, and 7 percent are uncertain. In an interesting twist, though, respondents indicate their views on the budget won’t necessarily change their votes.
Forty-five percent of respondents voted for a Republican last November, and 47 percent said they would do so if the election were held now. Meanwhile, 40 percent of respondents voted for a Democrat, and 42 percent said they would do so now.
