Palin: Obama 'Lacks Class' With 'Bush Burn' Rapper

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin again criticized President Barack Obama just for inviting the rapper Common to the White House because the controversial performer has sung lyrics praising the brutal murder of a state trooper and urged burning former President George W. Bush.

Palin, Obama, CommonPalin, who first voiced her opposition in a tweet Monday regarding Common’s appearance at the White House’s Poetry Night Wednesday, continued the criticism Wednesday on Fox News.

“The judgment is just so lacking of class and decency and all that's good about America with an invite like this,” she said.

"It's just so easy to assume that they're just inviting someone like me . . . to ask 'come on Barack Obama. Who are you palling around with now?'" Palin stressed that she’s not anti-rap. "Like [Fox News anchor] Brett Baier, I know the lyrics of 'Rappers Delight too.'"

Common, whose real name is Lonnie Lynn Jr., did rap workshops in the afternoon before the evening performance. Besides his song lauding a fugitive convicted of killing a trooper, during a 2007 HBO show entitled “Def Poetry,” Common rapped a song about the Iraq war that included this line: “Burn a Bush cos for peace he no push no button/Killing over oil and grease/No weapons of destruction.”
