Given the drubbing Democrats took in last year’s elections, President Barack Obama knows he has a tough re-election fight ahead of him. So it’s no surprise that his money machine already is out in force to finance the campaign ahead, as Politico reports.

They are encouraging donors to join a new “National Finance Council,” which would involve a contribution of up to $61,600 to the Democratic National Committee. That money could be put to work for Obama’s campaign.

Such a donation would get around the $2,300 limit on individual donations to candidates for each the primary and general election.
