How can you top the image of President Barack Obama riding a unicorn over a rainbow?
The National Republican Senatorial Committee’s new mock Obama ad will be a tough act to follow. The ad, a very subtle tongue-in-cheek slam at the last three years of his presidency, declares: "Four more years: America needs more changing."
The NRSC posted the fake "Obama 2012" ad Friday, jabbing Obama for divisiveness, his energy policy, budget deficits, and engaging in the occasional extracurricular activity, like golfing, or filling out NCAA brackets on television.
The ad refers to Obama’s trusted advisers and shows him with former Beatle Paul McCartney and other stars. It talks about his hard work intercut with shots of him at the golf course and picking his college basketball brackets.
"Four more years: America needs more changing," the spot says at the end, featuring a cartoon of Obama riding a unicorn over the rainbow.
The mocking ad comes shortly before Obama's expected to formally launch his own reelection effort. All indications have been that the president's move to file for a second term will come within weeks, and the Chicago Sun-Times reported yesterday that the decision could come as soon as Monday, according to The Hill.
