Rudy For New York Governor?

Former New York City Mayor and unsuccessful presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani is eyeing a new job — governor of New York.

A top Giuliani adviser told the New York Post that Rudy is considering running in a special election for governor if new Gov. David Paterson is forced to resign.

Since replacing disgraced Gov. Eliot Spitzer in mid-March, Paterson has admitted that he and his wife have both had extramarital affairs, and that he used cocaine and marijuana in the past. Questions have also arisen about his use of campaign funds.

If Paterson resigns before August, a special election would have to be held in November.

The Post reported: “Paterson’s candor has prompted questions among Albany insiders as to whether he may face further troubles.”
