Doubts Mount over Obama's Afghan 'Civilian Surge' Strategy

Even as he prepares to unveil his plans to send up to 35,000 U.S. soldiers to Afghanistan, President Barack Obama is pursuing what some experts call a naive, dangerous plan to mount a “civilian” surge of State Department peacemakers. Many know very little about one of the most dangerous war zones on earth.
