GOP: Health Test Guidelines First Step Toward Rationing

Republicans are seizing on this week's recommendations for fewer Pap smears and mammograms to point out that government-rationed medical care is likely to offer more of the same: pressure on doctors and patients not to seek the tests that could save lives through early detection. "This is how rationing starts," declared Sen. Jon Kyl of Arizona. "This is what we're going to expect in the future."
