Suzanne Somers Eliminated on DWTS After Wardrobe Snag

By

After five weeks of waltzing, twisting, and twirling on “Dancing With the Stars,” Suzanne Somers was voted off the show on Monday night, closing with an energetic jazz number and a costly dress tangle.

Episode five’s theme, “Disney Night,” evoked familiar fairytales from decades of Disney animations. Somers and dance partner Tony Dovolani chose the 1955 Disney classic Lady and the Tramp and swaggered to Peggy Lee’s “He’s a Tramp.”

Dressed in a black sequined dress, she and Dovolani began with a re-creation of the famous spaghetti-eating scene before hopping up and out into the dance floor.

An unfortunate catch of her heel on the back of her gown threw off the otherwise fleet-footed, 68-year-old Somers, leading her to miss a number of steps in the routine.

You’re easy on the eyes. It’s such a pity you had that hiccup because that was your best dance to date, well done,” said "DWTS" judge Len Goodman. They scored a 28 of out 40.
