1. Liposuction
This surgical outpatient procedure removes fat from your body using suction, according to WebMD. “The main purpose of liposuction is to reshape one or more areas of your body, not to reduce body weight,” that website said. “Liposuction is typically used on ‘problem’ areas that have not responded well to diet and exercise.” Reader’s Digest said liposuction has long been one of the most popular ways to control fat. Still, it cited a study that indicated the fat removed through liposuction tended over the following year to come back – just in different parts of the body.

2. The Cabbage Diet
TV star Jaime Pressly said she used this diet, also known as the Cabbage Soup Diet, to lose 32 pounds she had gained during pregnancy, according to ReachSelf. It indicated people on this diet are allowed an unlimited amount of cabbage soup and a few other specific foods.

3. The Master Cleanse
Celebrities Beyonce Knowles, Gwyneth Paltrow, Janet Jackson and Robin Quivers have used this diet, with Knowles saying she lost 20 pounds on it, according to ReachSelf, which noted that the cleans was developed in the 1940s and recently made popular by Peter Glickman.

4. Dr. Flavor-Full’s Diet
This crash diet provides 1,200 to 1,500 calories per day and was designed by author and physician David R. Katz, director of Yale Prevention Research Center, according to Fitness magazine. That publication said a sample menu shows a breakfast of mixed berries and a bowl of whole-grain cereal with skim milk; a lunch consisting of a mixed green salad with lentils and egg whites; for dinner, grilled fish or chicken, cooked vegetables, a mixed green salad and whole-grain pasta, bread or grains; and a snack of a mixed-berry salad or handful of unsalted almonds or walnuts.

5. The Cleanse Program
This diet and detoxification program is convenient for busy people and has been popular among celebrities who include Demi Moore, Mariska Hargitay and Gwyneth Paltorw, according to ReachSelf. People on this diet eat a solid lunch, aided by certain supplements, while consuming a liquid meal for breakfast and dinner.

6. The Grapefruit Diet
Celebrities Brooke Shields and Kylie Minogue reported enjoying fruitful weight loss efforts using this diet, which focuses on grapefruit consumption and has been around since the 1930s, ReachSelf said.

7. Dr. Joel Fuhrman’s 7-Day Crash Diet
TV host Dr. Mehmet Oz used his program to approve and introduce this diet, which is advertised as enabling people to lose as many as 10 pounds per week, said ReachSelf. Dieters are allowed to eat as much as they want of fresh fruits, starchy vegetables and dark, leafy vegetables, while consuming meat and dairy products at less than 10 percent of their meals.

8. The Chicken Soup Diet
This is a popular diet “floating around on the Internet,” according to ReachSelf. Dieters are allowed to choose what they eat for breakfast from five different menus. Then, for the rest of the day, they can eat as much chicken soup as they like — but nothing else.

9. The Drill Instructor’s Program
Fitness magazine said retired Marine Harvey E. Walden IV, formerly of “Celebrity Fit Club,” put forth this regimen, which calls for “six small, 300- to 350-calorie meals a day, with lean protein at each sitting — such as a turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread with a low-fat yogurt.” Green apples serve as snacks for those who choose to get with this program.

10. The Hollywood Diet
This option promises a weight loss of 10 pounds in 48 hours. “For 2 days you only drink a special juice that you have to purchase,” ReachSelf said. “The juice, according to the manufacturer, is a special blend of natural juices and botanical extracts.”
