Are ‘Melt-Away’ Cataract Drops Legit?

Friday, 28 Dec 2012 03:55 PM

Question: Have you ever heard of “melt-away” cataract drops? I’ve seen ads for them and I’m wondering if they are legitimate.

Dr. Hibberd’s answer:

Do not be deceived by false and misleading Internet advertising. There are no drops that will melt away cataracts. So save your time and money, and make an appointment with an ophthalmologist who will provide you with the options available that are suitable for you.

Sometimes a simple laser treatment may save you from conventional cataract surgery.
