What Causes Excess Saliva?

Monday, 21 Jun 2010 08:51 AM

Question: What could cause my salivary glands to produce excessive saliva, and what can I do to stop this over-production?

Dr. Hibberd's Answer:

Saliva is secreted from the salivary glands to aid digestion in our mouths. Excessive salivation may occur for many reasons. Lack of salivation usually causes more problems than abundant salivation. Excessive salivation is not usually treated aggressively.
