Can Statins Cause Heart Failure?

Question: Can statins cause heart failure?

Dr. Brownstein's Answer:

Researchers at the East Texas Medical Center found that after taking Lipitor for six months, 66 percent of people developed heart problems similar to those suffered by many congestive heart patients. They believe the reason was the statin drug depleted an essential nutrient known as Coenzyme Q10 or CoQ10.

This depletion will also lead to muscle aches and pains and may eventually lead to congestive heart failure.
