Which Forms of Magnesium Are Best?

Monday, 02 Dec 2013 08:47 AM

Question: What are the best forms of magnesium and which forms are best not to take?

Dr. Blaylock's Answer:

I always recommend magnesium citrate or magnesium citrate/malate. The slow-release form is the best tolerated and is well-absorbed.

Magnesium oxide is most poorly absorbed and frequently causes diarrhea. Other forms include magnesium chloride, magnesium lactate, and magnesium gluconate. These either cause diarrhea or contain very low doses of magnesium.
