Five Foods Key to Fab Abs

Five foods can help you achieve and keep a flat belly, according to Liz Vaccariello and Cynthia Sass, author of the “Flat Belly Diet.”

Wanting to lose belly fat isn’t just vanity, says Cynthia Sass. “Belly fat is quite dangerous, especially the really deep internal belly ft around your organs,” she told television host Rachael Ray. “It creates inflammation which we know is a creator of disease in the body – of aging, heart disease, type 2 diabetes, certain cancers, high blood pressure – they are actually caused by this internal belly fat. Even small amounts of excess belly ft can be dangerous. It’s really the most deadly type of fat on your body.”

The five fab ab foods that will tame your tummy are oils, nuts and seeds, olives, avocado, and dark or semi-sweet chocolate.

The belly fat diet consists of four daily meals of four hundred calories each no more than four hours apart. Each meal contains a monounsaturated fatty food, which new research shows makes weight loss easier as well as specifically targeting spare tires. Monounsaturated oils (MUFAs) are the healthy oils found in all plant foods. Ab-flattening oils include olive, flaxseed and canola. Nuts include all nuts as well as almond butter and chunky natural peanut butter.

A pair of tight jeans hanging in your closet where you can see them every time you open the closet door can also be one of the keys to a set of flat abs. Using mind tricks like reminding yourself of your ultimate diet goal, help you stay on track when you’re on a diet.
