Question: I eat oatmeal for breakfast, a veggie burger and salad for lunch, and vegetables for dinner, sometimes with a boiled egg. Do I need to worry about getting more protein?
Dr. Hibberd's answer:
Yes. You have a very low-calorie diet, and I'm sure this diet could be fine-tuned a little for you, with the help of a dietitian who can help bring a better balance to what you eat.
You eat very little protein, and should consider a consultation with a dietitian to figure out how best to increase your protein and fiber intake.
It would also be a good idea to have a dietary specialist review your calcium and omega-3 fatty acids intake, which may also be a little low.
