Do Supplements Interfere With Chemotherapy?

By Russell Blaylock, M.D.   |   Monday, 13 May 2013 09:37 AM

Question: I have been taking Zelboraf (vemurafenib) for melanoma, and am following your book “Natural Strategies for Cancer Patients.” Could any of the supplements you suggest be interfering with the chemotherapy?
Dr. Blaylock's Answer:

If you read my book carefully, you will see that these supplements do not interfere with chemotherapy. Rather, they enhance the effectiveness of these treatments.
Quercetin has been shown to be particularly effective against melanomas, which are tumors that release very high levels of glutamate. Having glutamate in your diet stimulates tumor growth and spread.
Most processed foods contain excitotoxin additives. Eat only freshly prepared foods and avoid excitotoxins.
