U.S. Sen. Max Baucus says investor and philanthropist Warren Buffett is scheduled to participate in the Montana Economic Development Summit in Butte next month.

Buffett, the CEO of Berkshire Hathaway Inc., is scheduled to speak to the gathering live via video.

Baucus also announced Tuesday that media pioneer and Internet executive Barry Diller will be in Butte for the Sept. 13-14 summit. Diller is chairman of Expedia Inc. and IAC/InterActiveCorp, which owns Ask.com, Chemistry.com Match.com and other websites.

Baucus says the meeting is meant to bring Montanans and industry leaders together to share advice and ideas for dealing with current economic challenges.

Other speakers include General Electric Co. Chairman Jeffrey Immelt, Walt Disney Co. CEO Robert Iger and Microsoft Corp. CEO Steve Ballmer.
