1. Alec Baldwin Wants Michelle Obama on '30 Rock'

Alec Baldwin is looking for some new faces to appear alongside him on his hit show, “30-Rock.”

Producer and screenwriter Robert Carlock has indicated that the current season of the show will have a number of notable guest stars including James Franco, whose character will reportedly be in love with a life-size inflatable pillow.

Baldwin evidently isn’t satisfied with actors or comedians appearing with him on the little screen. He wants first lady Michelle Obama to join him.

“Alec wants to get Michelle Obama as a guest star . . . Anyone who's interested, contact us, and we'll work something out,” Carlock told the U.K. Guardian.

Carlock has also written scripts for “Friends” and “Saturday Night Live.”

He let some psychological secrets out of the bag about the characters he creates through his writing. “If the people I worked with actually behaved like these characters, I would be working with the biggest bunch of psychopaths in history,” he said.

2. Paula to Be Simon’s ‘Idol’ Replacement?

“American Idol” seems to be heading for a ratings slump as Simon Cowell’s looming exit approaches.

One obvious move the show could make would be to bring back one of the original judge favorites, Paula Abdul.

A source told In Touch Weekly that negotiations with Paula are already underway.

“They’re not sure if she’d be the fifth judge, but they are talking to her. People tuned in to see Paula’s wacky antics and her chemistry with Simon. The show is just not as much fun to watch without her,” the source told the magazine.

Abdul’s rep has refused to comment on the story, but “American Idol” executive producer Cecile Frot-Coutaz claims that Fox execs are not attempting to orchestrate Abdul's return to the judge’s seat.

Frot-Coutaz told the New York Daily News, “There's no truth to that rumor.”

Abdul's negotiations prior to this season’s launch failed, and the former Laker girl was replaced by comedienne Ellen DeGeneres.

Other reports are circulating that Abdul may turn up as a judge on Cowell's upcoming U.S. version of “The X Factor.”

3. Veteran Claims to Be Oprah's Papa

Back when Barack Obama was running for president, a long-lost brother was found to be living in a shanty town in Kenya.

Then just days before his election an aunt was discovered living in public housing.

Now a World War II veteran is pleading with Obama’s powerhouse pal, Oprah Winfrey, to admit that the 84-year-old is the talk show queen’s father.

Norh Robinson is an economically disadvantaged Mississippi farmer who resides in a VA hospital.

Robinson would like Oprah to submit to a DNA test in order to prove that she’s his offspring.

“I told her [in a letter], if she wanted, I'd give her one [a DNA test],” Robinson told The New York Post.

He also sent Oprah his Social Security number and a photo of him wearing a World War II Navy uniform.

“I . . . got no answer,” Robinson said, adding, “If I did, it didn't get to me.”

He told the newspaper that he wasn't interested in Oprah's money but just wishes to speak with the TV star so he can have a father-to-daughter talk before he dies.

“I'd like her to call me,” he said.

The only mom and dad Oprah knew growing up were her mother, Vernita Lee, and Lee's boyfriend, Vernon Winfrey. She apparently always thought of Vernon as her dad but has determined that he wasn't a biological parent.

Robinson said that he met Vernita when they both worked in the same part of rural Mississippi, Oprah's hometown of Kosciusko.

Maybe one of these days Oprah will agree to go with Robinson on NBC’s “Who Do You Think You Are?”

4. Danny Glover Arrested During Protest

Just as his latest movie, “Death At a Funeral,” was making its debut, Danny Glover was getting himself arrested for engaging in some 1960s nostalgia.

Allegedly, the actor-activist and some of his friends trespassed and took part in a noisy protest against a food company in Maryland.

Glover and 11 others were busted by local cops as they rallied against Sodexo, a French food manufacturer, over the level of wages workers were being paid in the cafeteria.

With unemployment at record levels in the state and elsewhere, many were no doubt thinking, “At least someone’s got a job.”

Apparently, the workers weren’t members of a union like most government employees.

Now the actor's agent has the unenviable task of convincing studio execs that Glover won't do a repeat of the arrest while his next film is opening.

In addition to the “Lethal Weapon” franchise, Glover is best known for his unwavering support of dictators including Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez.

In his far-left activist past, he wrote a letter prior to the 82nd Annual Academy Awards calling on male Oscar presenters such as Sean Penn and Quentin Tarantino to boycott Hugo Boss suits. He was purportedly protesting the clothing company's plans to close plants and lay off workers.

With the tax increases that the Dems are floating, the general anti-business atmosphere they’re fostering and massive debt they’re creating, Glover will soon have his pick of companies to yammer at.

5. Kelly Ripa Raises Cash for Global Green USA

Kelly Ripa, morning talk-show host and Regis Philbin sidekick, is working with Electrolux to host her first live webcast in support of Earth Day and Global Green USA.

The first episode is called “Green Idea Swap.” Ripa's guests include Josie Maran, creator of her own eco-friendly makeup line, Zem Joaquin, founder and CEO of Ecofabulous, and Anna Getty, a green living and holistic lifestyle expert.

Up to $25,000 will be given by Electrolux to Global Green USA. Interestingly, the group’s board members include Leonardo DiCaprio and Edward Norton, both of whom are described as actor-activists.

The following from the Global Green Web site is quite eye opening: “Founded in 1994 by activist and philanthropist Diane Meyer Simon, Global Green is the American Arm of Green Cross International (GCI), which was created by President Mikhail S. Gorbachev to foster a global value shift toward a sustainable and secure future by reconnecting humanity with the environment.”

Gorbachev, the longtime environmental activist and former Soviet dictator, probably won't be mentioned in the Ripa Internet show.

The group’s mission includes “eliminating weapons of mass destruction that threaten lives and the environment.”

WMD are of course bad for the environment. But this type of language affords the organization the opportunity to meddle in international diplomacy, and tragically, these days national security is on the line.
