Media executive Barry Diller described the incoming Donald Trump administration as a "grand experiment."

"Every day, we see things we've never seen before," the chairman of IAC told CNBC.

"Look, 50 percent of the country wanted things to continue as they were, 50 percent wanted change. The 50 percent that wanted change has gotten the chance for it. As far as I'm concerned, bring it on," he said.

Diller said it appears the president-elect will bring about "almost undiluted change," CNBC.com explained.

One of the changes the United States will see is that Trump "is a better negotiator than someone who has trained in government," Diller said. Diller thinks Trump will actually be "really good across the table" and not "manhandle people" or "do one-off things that just sound good."

Shortly before the election, Diller had described Trump's presidential run an "evil miracle"  as the two reignite a long-simmering public feud. "The idea that clown, bad clown, could actually be president of the United States, it just insults all of us," Diller had told CNBC.

For his part, Trump on Wednesday defended his direct interventions with companies, including making statements on Twitter, saying businesses will benefit from his actions and his upcoming term in office, Reuters reported.

One day after criticizing one of Boeing Co.'s high-profile projects in a tweet, Trump told NBC that he anticipated "tremendous" economic growth under his administration but reiterated his warning that companies shifting U.S. jobs overseas would have to pay.

Still, markets and companies should not worry, he said.

"I don't know ... how people are unnerved," Trump told NBC's "Today" program. "It's just the opposite. Frankly, I think we're going to go up."

The New York businessman, who has never held public office, begins his term on Jan. 20.
