The New World Order of Tax Bureaucrats Can Be Stopped

Do you remember the movie Soylent Green?

Produced in 1973 and starring Charlton Heston, it is the science fiction story of a poverty stricken time where a dying population is being kept alive through a high-energy food called Soylent Green.

The Soylent Green Corp. is run by elite bureaucrats who stay in power since they are the ones who provide the Soylent Green for the masses. In the end, we discover that Soylent Green is made from people.

Not too much different than the money that is created by people to become taxes.

No, our government is not making food out of people. But it is keeping the productive sector of the economy alive just enough to provide financial sustenance to support the elite bureaucrats and the politicians who feed off the system.

Without as much as a shot being fired, control of our lives by the so-called New World Order of tax bureaucrats is coming into existence.

The free market is not all that free any longer. Personal liberties are not considered as important anymore against the good the collective. We are becoming a society run by tax bureaucrats whose power and authority is becoming unassailable.

Congress long ago started delegating its financial responsibilities and duties to the bureaucracy. In particular, they gave up the power of the purse in return for the ability to have more time to raise campaign contributions and run for re-election.

Why should Congress bother reading a tax law when the Treasury can write regulations that will dictate what the law, in fact, means?

Tax legislation, written by lobbyists, allows the tax bureaucracy to write regulations knowing that the legal system will nearly always enforce those regulations as a matter of law.

Recently, the speed of the globalization of financial enforcement and control by the administrative coordination of national tax bureaucracies has been accelerating.

The Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act enabled the creation of a worldwide tax bureaucracy that dictates tax, economic and, concomitantly, social policy without political interference.

Instead of treaties being entered into that require approval by an elected political body, the bureaucracy enters into “agreements” that do away with that interference.

Has Congress tried to fight back?

Yes, but not very forcefully. A recent regulation requiring the reporting of a foreign account holder’s interest has been the subject of an attempt by Congress to overturn it.

Bills have been passed in the House and the Senate. So far, the regulation stands and, consequently, foreigners are starting to close their U.S. bank and investment accountants at the very time that our financial institutions need depositors and customers.

The tax reform the United States must have is not merely a change in the marginal rates of tax. That’s been tried over and over again and look where we are.

If the United States is to survive as a capitalist economy based on personal freedom, the basis that forms your ability to create economic security for yourself and loved ones, then much more is necessary.

What it takes is a complete change of the tax system that is focused on local spending. A tax system where income — however, whenever or wherever it is earned — is irrelevant.

With that, the tax would be applied to everyone equally, administration becomes efficient, politics is minimized and the threat of a takeover of our lives by the New World Order of tax bureaucrats would end.
