Ellen Barkin recently used her twitter account to offer a prediction.

As the veteran Hollywood actress sees it, in the event anyone other than President Barack Obama wins the general presidential election, a police state will ensue.

Barkin was evidently upset with some members of the New York Police Department for allegedly having pushed her as she was out on the Big Apple streets on New Year’s Day.

She blamed New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and others, tweeting, “[Expletive] all of u, Bloomberg & every1 goose-stepping behind u. I cannot believe what I am seeing.U protect nothing.U ARE the violence in my city.”

Adding a comment about the upcoming presidential election, Barkin tweeted, “This will be nothing if Obama loses the election. A police state will be just around the corner.”

Barkin placed the tag “#Terrified” on the Twitter post. She also retweeted a Roseanne Barr missive against the New York mayor in which Barr had tweeted that "ny cops are arresting dark skinned teenagers everyday for pot-getting kickbacks for it-one joint-go to jail NYC-bloomberg."

Barkin is best known for her 1980s films “The Big Easy,” in which she co-stars with Dennis Quaid, and “Sea of Love,” in which she plays the role opposite Al Pacino.

She is thought to be an Oscar contender for her current film, “Another Happy Day.”
