Continuing to provide opportunity is an important objective for higher educational institutions, according to Mark Zupan, the dean of the University of Rochester's Simon School of Business Administration.
"Whether it is scholarships or better outreach … that has to be a responsibility of ours," Zupan said in an exclusive interview with Newxmax TV.
He cited the actual amount students typically pay for their education.

"Even though the actual retail price gets cited in the popular media … the average discount rate is 45 percent," he said.
"The typical price people pay is just slightly over one-half of what is listed, so that also has to be taken into account. [There] are alumni and friends providing generous scholarship support to provide that opportunity to the next generation."
And such are the goals of Simon's annual conference, recently held in New York City.
The gathering of some of the world's brightest minds, Zupan says, intends "to articulate first and foremost the role that markets and entrepreneurship play in creating value and bettering society."
He said while "business school rankings matter, you also want to have an impact on society and their critical issues."
He said the conference offers the rare opportunity to bring together "academics, policy makers, business leaders to help shed light on important issues of the day and provide a wonderful networking opportunity for the students and the attendees."
