Outdoor adventures are plentiful in and around Branson, Missouri. Travel tips often include various attractions, especially for nature lovers.

These seven places provide awe-inspiring views of the great outdoors:

1. Visitors will find hiking trails and wildlife viewing from a tower at the Shepherd of the Hills Fish Hatchery near Table Rock Dam. The hatchery produces rainbow and brown trout for Lake Taneycomo, but also has a variety of activities for nature lovers. Pavilions, picnic tables, boat ramps, fishing access areas and trails through forests bring outdoor adventures alive.

2. Fishing, boating, swimming and camping are available at Table Rock Dam and Lake. Visitors can take hiking trails to enjoy the great outdoors, surrounded by the beautiful views of the Ozark Mountains. Marinas and services are available for various recreational activities.

3. The Marvel Cave tourist attraction dates back to the late 1800s. Near the Silver Dollar City amusement park, the limestone cave continues to draw visitors to see the breathtaking formations. Tour guides take visitors through stairs and ramps throughout the cave that descends nearly 500 feet below the surface.

4. Talking Rocks Cavern, just minutes from Branson, offers glistening crystals and wonders of nature along pathways adorned with creative lighting. Before or after a journey into the cavern, visitors also enjoy the nature trails and picnic areas of the outdoors.

5. The Lakeside Forest Wilderness Area in Branson emphasizes nature and beauty in some 140 acres of wooded and hill country. Visitors are awed by the entranceway, which includes a large log archway over an ornamental iron gate. Visitors have a choice of taking two trails through forests, glades, large cedar-like trees, waterfalls and a beautiful landscape.

6. The Butterfly Palace and Rainforest Adventure, located on Highway 76, offers educational, entertaining and interactive activities on nature. More than a thousand live tropical butterflies greet visitors throughout the grounds. The Living Rainforest Science Center features live reptiles and amphibians. Visitors may also enjoy a 3-D film about butterflies.

7. Travel tips for people who desire some leisurely views of nature include Stockstill Park, which offers more than 60 acres of recreational opportunities. A walking trail surrounds the park. Pet lovers will enjoy the dog park to keep their pets entertained. Along with softball fields, tennis courts and a skate park, there are also pavilions and picnic tables for family fun.
