Participate in guided tours by hiking or riding horseback.

3. Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument, east of Billings, holds history and appreciation where the famous last battle of General Custer took place in 1876. The visitor center offers a detailed film about the event to help visitors as they walk around the monument. The historic site includes the Last Stand Hill, the Indian Memorial and the Custer National Cemetery.

4. Observe images of the West through the work of cowboy artist Charles M. Russell at the C.M. Russell Museum Complex in Great Falls. Hundreds of paintings and sculptures in more than a dozen galleries portray the wild frontier days. Russell's home and log cabin studio are included on the site.
