Last year’s ‘American Idol’ winner Lee DeWyze, wasn’t invited to be at Wednesday night’s finale where a new winner will be decided between Scott McCreery and Lauren Alaina.
His absence is a strange departure from ‘Idol’ protocol as all former winners have been at the following season’s finale.
“Hey guys, no I’m not performing at the Finale. I wasn’t asked to. A lot of questions so I thought I’d fill you in. Talk to you soon,” DeWyze tweeted.
Although the former ‘Idol’ winner was generous about his missing invitation, his brother Michael wasn’t so kind, tweeting “’American idol producers have no respect…that is all…serious b.s.”
He even went as far as to call Idol judge Nigel Lythgoe a “no soul scumbag.”
Fearing he may have overreacted, Michael later issued a qualifying tweet:
“People may think I’m being rude its just very obvious when someone is being treated disrespectfully…sorry bout angry tweets. Heat of moment,” Michael wrote.
