Wyoming has a lot to offer hunters, from big game such as antelope, bison and elk, to migratory birds, waterfowl, and wild turkey, just to name a few. What can enhance the hunting and field experience even more in Wyoming is technology in the form of mobile apps.

These apps can provide guidance in the field through tracking game, wind speed, trail cams, and more.

OnXmaps Hunt
The Hunt app combines GPS from your phone to view landowner names and know your location in relation to public and private property boundaries. Game & Fish magazine said this app provides hunting units for game species, such as antelope, deer, and elk. The app also allows the user to mark good lookouts, as well as places where a hunter has seen game.

HuntForce
Game & Fish magazine recommends this mobile app because it allows hunters to view all trail camera locations on any property. It provides snapshot reports of activity levels at each camera location. More detail can be provided by clicking on a given camera location. And the weather forecast is seen in real time, as well as what animals come during specific times of the day.

Trimble GPS Hunt and Fish
This app tracks the weather forecasts, sun and moon phases, trip statistics, and ballistic information. It also helps find hunting spots with detailed outdoor maps and helps track wildlife. Another benefit of this app is its ability to work in remote places without the need of data and cell signals.

The Primos Wind
The Council to Advance Hunting And The Shooting Sports, recommended The Primos Wind app because it displays the wind direction and speed, helping the hunter keep their scent away from the prey. The app uses the phone's compass to track the wind direction and speed.
