Use this information to determine the best places for hunting or for planning a combination hunting and camping trip.

  4. Hunt Planner - At this site, you can locate hunts by species, such as deer or elk, and browse all regional hunting maps. You can also download maps by subject, including private land open to hunting, controlled hunt areas for specific species, and places in the state closed to certain types of hunting.
  5. Access Yes! - Part of the official website of the Idaho Department of Fish and Game, this section enables hunters to search for private land available for hunting. Anyone interested in hunting and fishing can search the information via a list or map, both of which offer detailed information including when the property owner allows hunters on the land, the type of hunting permitted, how to obtain permission from the owner, and any other rules or restrictions.
  6. Accessible Hunting Sites Info- Also at the Idaho Department of Fish and Game website, you can search for hunting sites on the state’s 32 wildlife management areas. At this site you can determine which of the areas is open to the type of hunting -- such as big game -- that you’re interested in.
